DTI-8751 Drying Batch Oven
Customer directive
Our customer wanted to create an indexing single part flow inert atmosphere production furnace system to match, and seamlessly integrate into, the customer’s entire existing manufacturing process at a production rate of 45 seconds part to part. The customer’s then existing process included inefficient batch furnace staging of parts at this point in the process.
Description
The DTI-8751 batch oven dries molded plaster product. A humidity control system maintains the required R/H within the heated chamber to +/-10%. This system allows for multiple R/H set points for variable time durations. This is critical to the process in order to keep the outside of the product from drying too quickly, which would cause the product to crack on the surface.
Features
Batch oven construction features
The batch oven has double doors on both the entrance and exit ends of the oven equipped with explosion proof latches, allowing the product carts to move through the process in a single direction flow. The operating temperature of the batch oven is 180°F (82°C), but a 4,000,000 BTUH capacity burner is required to maintain the temperature because the oven is exhausting approximately 11,662 pounds of water per eight (8) hour cycle. The batch oven is constructed with a structural steel framework and galvanized insulated walls. The batch oven was constructed in eight (8) sections to accommodate shipping.
