Teppanyaki Grill

DESCRIPTION

The Teppanyaki Grill is a flat surface grill widely used to cook food in front of guests at restaurants. Restaurants that use these grills are commonly known as Japanese Steak Houses in the United States. With a solid griddle type cook surface the Teppanyaki is often confused with the Hibachi grill, which has an open grate surface. Hibachi grills also require charcoal or other type heat source that are not required with the Teppanyaki type grill.

Foods typically cooked include an assortment of meats, seafood, and vegetables. Meats that are often cooked on this surface include steak, filet mignon, chicken, seafood, and fish. Vegetables include zucchini, onions, and mushrooms as well as others. Meals normally include fried or steamed rice, soup, and salad. The vegetables are prepared prior to cooking at the table. The cook will prepare the food to order in front of the guests and serve directly from the grill. The meat, chicken, or seafood is cut into bite size pieces during cooking and sauces are added during the cooking process.

Even though these grills are used primarily in commercial restaurants, they can also be used at a private place of residence, as long as it’s used outdoors. Adding a Teppanyaki grill to your backyard landscape will create a fun atmosphere for your friends and family to enjoy during parties or even a simple cookout.
