Customer directive

Our customer wanted to create an indexing single part flow inert atmosphere production furnace system to match, and seamlessly integrate into, the customer’s entire existing manufacturing process at a production rate of 45 seconds part to part. The customer’s then existing process included inefficient batch furnace staging of parts at this point in the process.


Description

The DTI-965 industrial oven dries polymer fibers (skeins) used in gas separator manufacturing. Each skein weighs approximately 45 pounds, and approximately 20 pounds of this weight is water to be dried out of the product. The production rate of the oven is 1 skein every 30 minutes. The oven consists of four (4) individual zones of control. The product is loaded onto hangers that are conveyed through the oven by an overhead conveyor system.

CUSTOM OVEN ZONES OF CONTROL

The industrial oven’s first zone is an entrance vestibule and does not contain heat or circulated air. This section includes a drain pan in the floor to catch water running off of the product, which is then piped outside the chamber. The second zone is the first heated zone and contains a heater, circulation fan, and an independently controlled exhaust fan. The third zone in the oven also utilizes a circulation fan, exhaust fan, and heater that can be independently controlled. The fourth zone is an exit vestibule that does not have heat or circulated air.

ADDITIONAL CUSTOM OVEN CONSTRUCTION FEATURES

Airflow in both of the heated sections is vertical up. This industrial oven utilizes pneumatically controlled doors for each section opening. The system includes a dehumidification system. A heat exchanger is included to preheat make-up air provided for the dryer from the dehumidification system.
