The DTI-342 batch oven is used to dry a molded plaster product. The oven utilizes a humidity control system to maintain the required R/H within the heated chamber. This system allows for multiple R/H set points for variable time durations. This is critical to the process in order to keep the outside of the product from drying to quickly which would cause the product to crack on the surface.
BATCH OVEN CONSTRUCTION
The batch oven has double doors on both the entrance and exit ends of the oven. This allows the product carts to move through the process in a single direction flow. The operating temperature of the batch oven is 180°F (82°C), but a 3,000,000 BTUH capacity burner is required to maintain the temperature. This is because the batch oven is exhausting approximately 7,497 pounds of water per eight (8) hour cycle. The batch oven is constructed with a structural steel framework and insulated walls. The batch oven was constructed in eight (8) sections to accommodate shipping.
