DESCRIPTION
The DTI-1144 conveyor oven cures automotive disc brake pads after press forming. The press formed parts are manually loaded from the presses into the conveyor oven to provide continuous product flow. The oven conveyor consists of rigid trays; each tray contains eight parts across the width of the conveyor oven. Each press forms two parts per cycle, which are then placed in specific tray locations within the conveyor oven to maintain part segregation throughout the length of the oven. This system provides the ability to manufacture different parts at the same time and cure those parts in a single oven simultaneously. The tray system is designed to position parts in a vertical orientation to reduce the floor space required for the equipment. Prior to the exit point of the system, the parts are also cooled within the same equipment.
FEATURES
AUTOMOTIVE SUPPLIER ADVANTAGES
- Elimination of batch processes and associated labor cost of handling product
- Reduces work in process
- Each part receives equal airflow resulting in shorter cure cycles as compared to cure cycles of parts being produced in baskets in a batch process.
- Shorter cycle times equate to less energy required for production
- Parts immediately entering cure oven reduces the required energy per part for cure cycle by utilizing heat absorbed by each part during press cycle
- Vertical part orientation reduces floor space required for the curing process in a work cell
AUTOMOTIVE OVEN FEATURES
- The oven is gas heated
- Custom product trays make up conveying system
- Heating and cooling in the same piece of equipment
