Customer directive

Our customer wanted to create an indexing single part flow inert atmosphere production furnace system to match, and seamlessly integrate into, the customer’s entire existing manufacturing process at a production rate of 45 seconds part to part. The customer’s then existing process included inefficient batch furnace staging of parts at this point in the process.

Description

The DTI-1001 conveyor oven is used to cure a coating on steel components used in the automotive industry. The coating is screen printed robotically on each part prior to the cure oven. Parts are loaded and unloaded manually in rows of 10 across the width of the conveyor belt. Parts are conveyed in a horizontal orientation through the oven chamber. Product is heated as each row travels in the horizontal orientation through the heated chamber. Parts then travel through the cooling zone located immediately after the heating chamber before unloading.

Features

System advantages for automotive suppliers

  • Provides in line manufacturing
  • Allows for multiple parts to be loaded in the same row across the conveyor belt, reducing the required floor space for the curing operation
  • Oven processes 1,300 parts per hour in full production

Horizontal oven curing system features

  • The oven is gas heated
  • Includes forced air cooling section
  • Closed loop temperature control in two independent zones of heating
