DTI-298 Forming Batch Oven
This batch oven heats aluminum honeycomb products during the forming process. The product is placed in the tool for forming, and then placed on the cart and loaded into the batch oven to be heated and formed. The product is heated at a controlled ramp-up rate of approximately 37° F per minute to 475° F. The product then soaks at 475° F for 60 minutes and a cool down cycle begins. Approximately 1/2 liter of solvent is exhausted during the process.
Batch Oven Construction
The unique component of this batch oven is the cart system and floor tracks. The batch oven floor utilizes recessed floor tracks to accommodate the custom product cart (provided with the batch oven). The exterior batch oven tracks are anchored to the plant floor. These tracks line up with the tracks in the batch oven floor. This allows the cart to be loaded and unloaded from the batch oven. Each track, exterior to the batch oven, has a 4’-0” long section that folds 180 degrees to allow the oven doors to open and close. For cart removal, the doors are opened and the cart tracks are manually unfolded 180 degrees. During batch oven operation, the cart rails are folded back 180 degrees and the batch oven doors are closed. The exterior and interior cart tracks utilize male and female receivers to ensure proper alignment. A heavy duty hinge system with replaceable bearings and cart stop are provided for both exterior tracks. Tracks are constructed of carbon steel.
