Davron announces the shipment of a vertical oven curing system to a worldwide tier one automotive supplier that manufactures pistons. This curing system cures friction reducing coating on the piston. The coating is screen printed on each side of the piston skirt prior to the cure oven.

The oven is constructed of 5" thick steel insulated wals with 16 gauge aluminized interior and 16 gauge carbon steel exterior painted with high temperature paint. The operating temperature of the oven is 415 degrees F with a mximum operating temperature of 500 degrees F.

Parts are loaded, in groups, into the oven conveyor tooling by a pick and place system. Parts index in a vertical orientation through the heated chamber. Product is heated as each tray indexes in a vertical orientation through the heated chabmer. Parts then travel in a horizontal orientation through the cooling zone and are unloaded after exiting.

The heated chamber is specifically designed to provide a horizontal airflow to the product during the entire drying process. The oven utilizes a PLC with operator touch screen for control.
